Arthroscopic Meniscus Repair

Meniscus is cushion like structure present inside the knee joint. Meniscus acts as a shock absorber and helps in uniformly distributing load across the joint. It is an important structure, if absent or damaged can lead to early degeneration of joint. At knee hip shoulder clinic our goal is to preserve meniscus and its function. Depending upon the type, location and quality of the torn fragment, and the age of the patient, repairing the meniscus is our priority.

There are various techniques with which we repair the torn meniscus. All the procedures are done through minimal invasive and pin hole technique (Arthroscopic technique).
Recovery time for these surgeries varies, non weight bearing movement starts immediately after surgery followed by partial to full weight bearing over next 6- 8 weeks. Dr Mohit Madan is one of very few arthroscopic surgeons performing arthroscopic meniscus repair quite frequently with outstanding results.
